Dental services have come a long way since the days when people dreaded having to step foot through the door. At Mitcham Dental Clinic, we believe in putting people at ease from their very first phone call.
We take our time to get to know your needs and wishes. We understand life is busy and to make your visit to the dentist as easy as possible, we offer flexible early-morning and evening appointments.
At Mitcham Dental Clinic we use small cameras right inside your mouth to take highly magnified digital photos of your teeth. These photos can be displayed on a computer screen for both patient and doctor, and are invaluable in diagnosing and recording dental problems. Intra-oral photos also allow our patients to view what the dentist sees when they are evaluating your teeth.
Digital radiography is the latest way to take and evaluate x-rays. With digital x-rays, less radiation is needed to produce high-quality images. These images can then be evaluated on a large flat-screen monitor. This allows for easier detection of any problems. With such a large image, it is also easier for patients to see and understand what is happening with their teeth.
EMS Airflow Polish (ProphyJet)
We are very excited to have the newest device in teeth cleaning at Mitcham Dental Clinic. The EMS Airflow Polish, or Prophy Jet, combines comfort, efficiency and precision to help us give you the best dental clean possible.
The Prophy Jet uses air, a fine bi-carb powder and water set at your temperature preference, to remove plaque and stains from your teeth. It is especially good at cleaning those hard to reach stains including those between your teeth and around orthodontic braces. If you experience teeth stains from tea, coffee or smoking, then a clean with our Dental Hygienist, using the EMS Airflow Polish is a must.
Mercury Free Restorations
Mitcham Dental Clinic replaces old amalgam fillings with mercury-free ones. Amalgam (silver) fillings contain mercury. Mercury is a toxic poison, and mercury-based fillings are unattractive. If you are planning to have your silver fillings replaced, you'll want to get the new improved filling material that match the color of your natural teeth and does not contain mercury.
